Alongside its rich and varied curriculum, the Verbier International School is proud to once again open up its very own Ski Academy and Forest School programmes next school year, as well as introduce new extra-curricular programmes such as the Tennis and Golf Academy.

Selected VIS students from Year 5 and up have the opportunity to be part of the VIS Ski or Freeride Academy from September onwards, combining ski training and schooling throughout the school year. Students will not only be training on the glaciers before the season, they will also be busy with a dedicated personal trainer to prepare them for the season ahead. For those who wish to pursue Tennis or Golf, an adapted Sports Academy programme has also been created to offer those students the possibility to train during the week whilst being given extra support in school to continue to follow the curriculum successfully.

For the younger classes (Foundation Stage to Year 4), all students have the opportunity to experience Forest School once a week. They get to explore and connect with the wonderful nature around us here in the mountains, developing confidence and social skills, which in turn helps with their engagement in class. The school has constructed a circular “couvert” using only natural materials for group activities and stories, and are able to use a huge area of surrounding woodland for our activities, with the couvert at the centre.
